Email address validator

Check one email address before it lands on your list: syntax, disposable providers, domain typos, role accounts and whether the domain can receive mail at all.

DNS checks only. We never connect to the mailbox or send it anything.

Quick answer

An address is safe to add when its syntax is valid, its domain has MX records, it is not from a disposable provider and the domain is not a typo of a common provider. Role addresses like info@ usually work but engage less.

What this tool checks

Syntax. One @, a valid local part and a public domain. Private names like localhost are rejected.

Disposable providers. We match the domain against a list of known throwaway inbox services such as mailinator.com.

Typos. Near misses of popular providers, like gmial.com or gmail.co, get a suggested correction.

Role accounts and MX. Shared inboxes like admin@ or support@ are flagged, and we confirm the domain publishes MX records to accept mail.

How to fix common issues

Typos at signup

Show the suggestion inline (“Did you mean [email protected]?”) instead of rejecting the address. Lumail runs this check on its own signup flow.

Disposable addresses

Block them on lead magnets and trials. They inflate your list and drive up bounces once the inbox expires.

No MX record

The domain cannot receive email. Remove the address: every send to it is a hard bounce that hurts your reputation.

Role addresses

Keep them only when the person signed up on purpose. Confirm with double opt-in.

Frequently asked questions

Does this check whether the mailbox exists?

No. It checks syntax, the domain’s MX records and known risky patterns. It never opens an SMTP connection to probe the mailbox, which many providers treat as abuse and which is unreliable anyway.

What is a disposable email address?

An inbox from a service that hands out temporary addresses, often deleted after minutes or days. People use them to grab a download without joining your list.

Why flag role addresses like info@?

They are often read by several people or no one, so they engage less and complain more. They are valid, just riskier for marketing email.

Can I validate a whole list here?

This free tool checks one address at a time. To keep a list clean, use double opt-in and remove addresses that hard bounce, which Lumail does automatically.
