Campaign content verification rules
Why Lumail blocks cold email and phishing, and how to fix legitimate campaigns that need clearer branding or consent context.
Lumail checks a campaign before scheduling it. The check protects recipients and the sending reputation shared by every Lumail customer.
What Lumail does not support
Lumail does not support:
- Cold email: unsolicited messages to people who did not subscribe, request the message, buy from you, or otherwise establish a relevant relationship with your organization.
- Phishing: deceptive messages that impersonate a person or brand, hide the real sender, manufacture urgency, or try to obtain credentials, money, or sensitive information under false pretenses.
If the campaign is genuinely cold email or phishing, changing a few words does not make it eligible. Do not send it through Lumail. An imported, purchased, scraped, enriched, or publicly listed address is not proof of permission.
What you can fix
A legitimate campaign can still need review when its context is unclear. Check that it:
- Shows the organization or product name prominently.
- Uses a sender identity and links that match that organization.
- Tells recipients truthfully why they are receiving the message, such as signing up for a named list, requesting a resource, creating an account, or making a purchase.
- Avoids misleading claims, impersonation, hidden destinations, and false urgency.
The reason-for-sending sentence must describe a real relationship. Adding “you subscribed” cannot cure a list whose recipients never subscribed.
If the detection is wrong
Use Explain why in the blocked campaign dialog. The AI Assistant reads these rules and the current campaign, then points to the content that triggered the check. It can suggest clearer wording for a legitimate permission-based campaign. It will not provide a workaround for actual cold email or phishing.
An administrator may review a false positive for the exact campaign version. Editing the content or sender requires a new verification.
